John Madden and Pat Summeral call the game:
Lin Elliott kicked a 23 yard field goal with 7:10 left in overtime giving the Kansas City Chiefs a 20-17 come from behind victory over the New York Giants at Arrowhead Stadium. The Giants led 10-3 at halftime behind a Dave Brown 26 yard touchdown pass to Chris Calloway. They extended the lead to 17-3 in the fourth quarter when Tito Wooten returned a fumble one yard for a score. The Chiefs finally found the end zone when Marcus Allen scored on a one yard run with 5:05 left in regulation. After a Giants three and out, Steve Bono would find Danan Hughes with a three yard touchdown pass. The Chiefs had tied it with 1:22 left. Bono finished 29 of 47 for 183 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Allen led all rushers with 86 yards on 19 carries. For the Giants, Brown completed 10 of 14 passes for 151 yards and one touchdown. Calloway led all receivers with 100 yards receiving. |
