Changes to Goal Line Collection Site, 04/08/2015

First of all, thank you for using the Goal Line Collection Site - I sincerely hope that this 24/7 resource makes tracking your collections easier. The website has grown far beyond what I ever imagined it would be when I started it eight years ago. I have not charged users for use of the site and have let it grow mostly untouched, but I will be implementing some changes so that I am not taking on the full cost, the burden of notifying users and so that things will hopefully be less cluttered.

Effective Immediately, the following changes are being made to the Goal Line Game Collection Site.

There will be two types of subscriptions to the site:

1. Paid subscription: $10 for a year. This will allow you to continue to add your own items to the database. If a team you need is not in the database, you will still be able to add it. You will receive a notice when your year has expired, and your account will transition to Non-Paid automatically. You will also be able to get an excel spreadsheet of your collection at any time.

2. Non-Paid subscription: No cost. You can still add inventory, but you will not be allowed to add new items to the database (such as a team that may not yet exist). Your login will be good for one year at a time, and you will be responsible for maintaining the login. No email reminders will be sent and if one year goes by without a login, your account and data will be removed without notice.

3. User Agreement: you will need to agree to terms before accessing your page. There have been users that have added non-sports items, duplicate team names, etc. This will no longer be allowed and could result in suspension of the ability to add new events/teams, etc. or the suspension of your account.

I will look into upgrading the database behind the site and will also be looking into adding a "Season" drop down to use instead of the "Year" (or in addition to), as I know some users have expressed an interest in that type of thing, so they can have a hockey game listed as 2004-05, instead of 2005, if they wish.

If there is enough interest, I will also look at expanding the Pre-Loaded Games listings - if you have requests, please let me know the league, and if possible, I will add games to the list. This will depend upon finding a nicely-formatted schedule for the league.

In the near future there will also be the option to turn on/off your ability to receive emails from non-registered users of the site. You will still be able to receive PMs from registered users.
