This is the final win by the Jets at Shea Stadium. Even though scoring was minimal in the first half and it was tied 3-3 early in the 3rd quarter, the game was never really in doubt. The Patriots, who were coming off a 30-0 drubbing at home the previous week against Cleveland, laid another egg this game. Rookie Tony Eason continued to struggle to move the team playing for the injured Steve Grogan. Wesley Walker finally came to life for the Jets, scoring twice and for the first time since week 4. Marv Albert and John Brodie have the call. |
