1st ever meeting between these two glorious programs. Georgia won the game and the National Championship against one of the best defense in the country. Herschel Walker (separate shoulder!) 150 yards on the ground and 2 TD`s. Dan Devine`s last game as Notre Dame head coach. For Walker this magical freshman year came to a close with a rushing total of 1616 yards; best mark in NCAA history for a freshman. |
