Chico Resch plays his heart out, as Colorado tries to hang on for the tie. The Islanders are shooting for their 15th straight victory, as the game comes down to the final seconds! With 47 seconds left in the game Brian Trottier gains the blue line and passes the puck to John Tonelli. As Tonelli nears the top of the face-off circle, he lets rip a slap shot and it just squeaks through Resch`s pads for a goal. The Islanders come through and win their 15th consecutive game, a record for the franchise. Former Islander Chico Resch is heartbroken as he did everything possible to try and win the game. Final score, Islanders win it 3-2. |
