On 2-9-95, the Canadiens and Flyers made a big trade. Mark Recchi went to Montreal and John LeClair and Eric Desjardins and Gilbert Dionne came to Philadelphia. This is the 1st meeting since the trade. The Flyers dominate this game. After a scoreless 1st Period, LeClair gets 2 goals in the 2nd period at 8:48 and 14:40 for a 2-0 Flyers lead. They blow the game wide open with 5 goals in the 3rd period. In that period LeClair completes his 2nd career hat trick at 1:13.The new Legion of Doom line has a great game. LeClair with 3 goals Mikael Renberg 3 assists and Eric Lindros 2 assists. Flyers goaltender Ron Hextall stops all 18 Montreal shots for his 10th career shutout. Philadelphia outshoots Montreal 41-18. |
