Comments: A rare game from one of college basketball`s shrines. The Palestra in Philadelphia. This game is worthy of the venue. Lionel Simmons scores 36 points 10 rebounds to lead LaSalle to a wild 101-100 win. Jack Hurd adds 19 and Doug Overton scores 17 points. The Explorers go on a 19-6 run at the end of The 1st Half to take a 59-33 Florida State comes back in the 2nd half to make this a great game. In the 2nd half LaSalle fights off repeated Seminole runs. With 2:42 left George McCloud hits a 3 pointer to bring Florida State within 2 points 91-89. George McCloud scores 36 points. Tharon Mayes adds 24 points and 10 assists Tony Dawson contributes 20 points.
