The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, on the heels of a run to the sweet sixteen the previous year started the season by taking on the defending National Champion North Carolina Tar Heels. Carolina was loaded still but Ralph Willard`s team still had tons of talent. WKU fell behind by as much as 15 but were within 5 in the final few minutes before caving in for good. Lots of great play on both sides in this one! Brad Nessler and Dick Vitale have the call. |
