On a frigid day in Blacksburg with the winds blowing at around 30 mph, the VMI Keydets score a huge upset over Tech. It was their first win over the Hokies since 1974 and their first shutout of Tech since 1961. After a scoreless first half, the Keydets caught a break with a Tech fumble. VMI punched it in from the 1 for the game`s only score. VMI finished with a winning record in 1981 and through the 2016 season, hasn`t had another one.
