In the first College All-Star Game that featured an AFL team as the champion, the New York Jets narrowly edged the College-All Stars. The first half was controlled by the Jets who got out to a 13-0 lead. The second half was entirely different though as Greg Cook led the All-Stars on a charge that nearly gave them the game. He fired three touchdown passes but it was not enough. Matt Snell scored twice for the Jets while Jim Turner kicked 4 field goals. Who knows what would have happened had O.J. Simpson and Ron Johnson suited up for the All-Stars. Jack Brickhouse and Irv Kupcinet have the call. |
