I am now trading again. Because time and money are limited these days, I can only manage one trade of up to 10 games in a given week, though if circumstances change, that will change as well, as I do enjoy trading. I will post my mailing schedule here to let interested traders know how much of a backlog I have. Also, this means that, for the time being, I can only make mailings within the United States as international postage costs are just too high.
    K mailing date: June 9.
NEXT AVAILABLE MAILING DATE: June 16.
All games are in Standard Definition unless otherwise noted.
My areas of focus are listed below. These are the things I`m most interested in, but I`m willing to trade for just about anything I don`t have. I will not sell copies of games under any circumstances.
MLB: Oakland Athletics, All Star Games, World Series Games
NBA: Golden State Warriors, NBA Finals Games
NFL: Oakland Raiders, All Playoff Games, Pro Bowls
NHL: San Jose Sharks, Stanley Cup Finals Games
NCAA Basketball: Washington State Cougars, NCAA Tourney semis and finals
NCAA Football: Washington State Cougars, Major Bowls (Rose, Orange, Fiesta, Sugar, Cotton, BCS championship)
    Summer and Winter Olympics
I`m moving away from letter or number grades as they are just too arbitrary. I will instead list any defects I know of that cause the quality to be less than that expected of a best-case recording for a given era. If there are serious defects, such as major quality problems or joining a game in progress when I know there to be far better or more complete copies available elsewhere I will mark the game "not recommended for trade."
Games that I have received in trade and do not know the original source will be marked as such.
For my master versions, the sources, generally speaking, are as follows:
1987-91: Recorded from over the air or cable broadcast onto an NEC mono VHS recorder.
1991-2000: Recorded from over the air or cable broadcast on an RCA stereo 4-head VHS recorder. From about 1996 on, there were some significant recording head issues and many master tapes from this era are not suitable for trade.
2000-04: Recorded from Direct TV or over the air local channels onto a Sony 4-head VHS recorder.
2004-05: Recorded from Direct TV or over the air broadcast onto a Philips DVD recorder that I can`t remember the model number of.
2005-08: Recorded from Direct TV or over the air broadcast onto a Panasonic DMR-E85H hard drive and burned onto a disc. With some exceptions the hard drive recording is in XP and the disc recording is in flexible recording mode.
2008-present: The disc burner in the DMR-E85H died and no amount of work or spindle cleaning has been able to fix the problem. Games are recorded first onto the hard drive at XP (except as noted) and then transferred to disc on a Panasonic DMR-EA18 recorder in flexible recording mode. There will be a recording info box at the beginning of most of these recordings for a few seconds and up to a minute of a menu screen at the end.
Unless otherwise noted, I have not edited commercials from my master recordings. Most games are recorded onto a single disc for running times up to 4 hours. Panasonic does a nice job of maintaining good watchable quality at that level. The exceptions are Raider games, NFL playoffs, WSU football games, and NCAA bowl games. These are usually recorded on two discs at 1h30m-2h00m per disc.
I am not unusually choosy about the quality of a recording. I`m more interested in just seeing the game and less interested in a pristine viewing experience, so don`t be afraid to offer your average recordings in trade to me. If you`re looking for sparkling HD broadcasts, I`m probably not the guy to trade with. That said, I do try to make sure my recording quality is the best I can make it with the time I have to spend on it and within the parameters I described above. I burn my games on Sony discs exclusively and am happy to receive just about anything in return except bargain basement store brand discs. Copies I make for you will be direct data transfers using Roxio or Nero disc copy.
So, get in touch if you see something you like and let`s work a trade.
