The LFL's championship trophy is named for the former president of Luther College and current bishop of the ELCA. A 1970's SuperJock football player sits atop the trophy base -- still in working order. The trophy is engraved each season with the winning team's name and coach."The George", as it has become known in fantasy football lore, is a symbol of excellence all in the LFL hope to achieve. Each year the winner is determined on the field -- who can assemble the most talented group of players, and get peak performances from them at the right times. One owner will stand above the rest each year, and it is this person, and this person only who is worthy of "The George".
Playing in the LFL is not for the faint of heart. It takes
guts and determination to win it all. In our first nine seasons, six different owners have hoisted "The George".
